LAGO DI FUSINE
Free days are for family trips, well this one was only half family trip, but we made sure that the two family members who stayed at home regretted it! First stop on our day trip to Kranjska Gora was a perfect spot just a few minutes from the border in Italy. Lago di Fusine are two gorgeous emerald green lakes, with lots of cute spots to hang out around them. Next time I’m coming with a picnic basket for sure! Even though quite some people visit the lakes, the atmosphere is still very peaceful and chilled, and the amazing views on the mountains are just a bonus. You can drive here with car, but lot’s of people make a bike trip up here. I’ll put the bike tour on my bucket list for next time!
Green scenery accompanied us trough the whole trip, and next stop Zelenci Springs never dissapoints. I love coming here from time to time, and this time we were pretty lucky that there were not so many tourists. Zelenci are the source of Sava Dolinka River where water from underground re-emerges through the porous bottom of a lake which you can see on the photos. Photogenic place, right?
LUNCH SPOT: LAČNI KEKEC
Whenever I come to Kranjska Gora we take a lunch break in Lačni Kekec! Friendly faces and good food are always appreciated. During the snow season I work in Ski School next door, so in the winter I’m a regular here. Kekec is a star of Slovenian stories and movies for kids which take place in Kranjska Gora. So a lot of places and ski lifts are dedicated to the story. Don’t you just love different places more when there is a story behind it?
The last stop was gorgeous Jasna lake, that is located under Vršič pass. If the weather is nice you can swim here or take a sup on the lake, but for me water is usually too cold. There are two cute spots around where you can stop for a drink and just enjoy the view.
